  • The hot season at Key Largo starts in June and lasts for almost 4 months up to the end of September with an average daily temperature above 87 F.
  • The cool season at Key Largo lasts for approximately 3 months and starts in early December. The average temperature during this period is below 78 F.

The good news for sea lovers is that the temperature of seawater in Key Largo rarely drops off 73 F and the warmest sea is in August when the temperature reaches 87 F.
 

The Best Time to Visit Key Largo

  • The best months for a family vacation with kids are during the dry season from November to March.
  • If you are a snowbird and your main goal is to warm up in the sunny beams, it is better to choose your vacation dates between August when the sea is the warmest and December.
  • Fishing lovers should know that the best fishing season in Key Largo is between April and May when most fish species are at their prime.
  • If intense cultural life is your #1 requirement, then, visiting Key Largo in March, April and June is the best for you.

Please, be aware of the whimsy hot season between June and November as these are typically peak hurricane and rain months. Thus, please, check the weather forecast prior to your visit.
